Leather Working Group

Leather is a premium material with great longevity, and even though leather stands for less than 1% of GANT’s total material usage, we want the animal-derived leather we use to come from suppliers we know are proactively addressing their environmental, social and animal welfare impacts.

Leather Working Group

GANT is committed to supporting sustainable leather manufacturing across the globe, which is why we are proud members of the Leather Working Group (LWG). The LWG is an international organization made up of stakeholders, across the leather supply chain, working to promote environmental best practices within leather manufacturing and related industries. LWG-certified tanneries responsibly manage and use resources, such as energy and water, and actively work to reduce their emissions to the environment. By supporting the Leather Working Group, we want to push the industry into a more sustainable direction. Read more about the Leather Working Group here.

Animal Welfare

GANT’s animal welfare policy has been created to encourage, promote and secure good husbandry practices and respectful treatment of animals. Breeders and all parties handling the animals should adhere to the Five Freedoms defined by EU Farm Animal Welfare Council/World Organization for Animal Health (OIE). Raw materials used by GANT originating from animals can only be a by-product of meat production.
